The artists’ concept proposal states: “We were captured by the elegant and elemental form of a deer antler. Sited on the plaza, as if naturally shed, this monumental and inanimate object becomes a “place”. “shed” implies an entire landscape, yet also conveys an intimacy. The particular is abstracted and transformed by scale, material, siting an archetypal form conveyed in a contemporary medium.”
