Description
Eli Bornowsky has been practicing as an artist in Vancouver over the past decade and has accomplished an impressive and diverse body of abstract paintings. The exhibition catalogue features a number of large canvas ‘doubles’ which mirror each other with their almost-but-not-quite identical forms. Bornowsky explores the polyrhythmic textures of landscape, Renaissance painting, the artist’s studio, colour, Abstract Expressionism, doubles, and Cubism. With transcribed texts and email exchanges between artist and curator, as well as an artist’s statement.
