Genevieve Robertson is an interdisciplinary artist with a background in environmental studies, based in British Columbia, Canada. Her practice encompasses drawing, painting, video and writing and is often place-based and collaborative. Through her explorations of material and site, she seeks to learn from elements and ecologies in a time of large-scale extractive development, mass extinction and climate catastrophe. Her work is informed by a personal and intergenerational history of resource labour in remote forestry camps on the West Coast of British Columbia. Genevieve holds a BFA from NSCAD University (Halifax) and an MFA from Emily Carr University (Vancouver), and has attended artist residencies and participated in exhibitions widely.
