Ben Duncan lives and works in Vancouver, BC, but is originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba. He completed his Bachelo of Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba in 2009, with a major in sculpture. Upon graduating, he won the University of Manitoba's CPAM Sculptural Experience award and installed his permanent bronze piece, Golem's Pelt, on the campus grounds in 2011. More recently, Duncan has been working in the mediums of drawing and screenprinting, establishing narrative-centric situations through a roster of reoccurring and newly developed characters. With a humorous bent, he focuses on a variety of themes, including but not limited to cartoonish displays of explosive violence, surreal gang culture and an insectoid value system applied to traditional human societies.
