Sandra Bilawich sculpted this steel bone out of corten steel, a high density and weather resistant alloy. Designed as a permanent installation, the bone is located in the dog off-leash area of Taylor Park in South-east Burnaby. The artwork engages with both the public as well as its environment: dogs enjoy jumping on or over the bone while pet-owners often use it as a bench. Commissioned through the Burnaby Parks and Recreation teams, the artist worked with Park Designer Shira Golden to help realize the project for this park.
