Gift from Bob Steele
Robert Cameron (Bob) Steele was born in Mervin, Saskatchewan in 1925. He served in the RCAF, received Education and Arts degrees at the University of Saskatchewan, and taught music, art and English in Princeton and Chilliwack and at the Vancouver School of Art. He taught within the UBC Faculty of Education for 28 years and specialized in graphic arts and art education. In 1988, he founded the Drawing Network, and his "Draw Me a Story" books are published by Portage and Main Press. Steele has had numerous solo shows in British Columbia, and his work can be found in private and public collections across Canada and internationally.
