Shinsuke Minegishi is an artist-printmaker who excels in the process of creating wood engravings and original bookworks that weave personal and collective narratives with subtle, unique, complimentary and imaginative imagery. This publication documents, in both words and images, the artist’s personal reaction to the 2011 Japanese tsunami. A new series of works features a combination of techniques including watercolour, silkscreen and linocut and reflects upon the impact of such disasters on one’s own sense of being in the world. Born in Japan and educated in both Japanese and Canadian universities, Shinsuke Minegishi’s works can be found in National Bank of Canada and Sakima Art Museum. Text in both English and Japanese.
