Yellow Fence is a UniverCity public art project designed to complement their plans for a sustainable community. Fifteen gates are furnished with yellow-painted construction fencing to show how context informs concept. The work explores interiority and exteriority, as the gates literally demarcate public and private space. Through construction then abstraction, the fence evolves from standard grid to open form, suggesting a new concept of sustainability.
