Originally shown in an exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1974, this colourful mosaic depicting a view from the Stanley Park Seawall of a cruise ship passing under the Lion’s Gate Bridge was a part of Background/Vancouver, a photo-mapping initiative conceived and produced by Michael de Courcy. This tile mural, likely inspired from one of Courcy’s photographs, was once located on the outer wall of the Admiral Hotel at 4125 Hastings Street in North Burnaby.
