Kitty Blandy is a London-born, Vancouver-based artist who regularly exhibits in both cities. Since her first solo show in London in 1986, Blandy has established a dedicated following, particularly for her print works. Exhibitions with the Printmakers Council UK and Malaspina Printmakers Society in Vancouver were instrumental in her early career, as was her representation by Lumley Cazalet (later Catherine Hodgkinson), established print dealers who have exhibited her work for over twenty years, including at the London Original Print Fair for ten consecutive years. Blandy works predominantly in the mediums of printmaking, drawing and sculpture on explorations of extreme physiognomic form and states-of-being. She is noted for possessing the skill of using minimal line to create full forms. Her recent work explores anthropomorphism and the human/animal hybrid. Blandy’s work is included in many private and public collections, notably the National Portrait Gallery, London. Blandy holds a BFA from Emily Carr University.
